FAU Tech students win international Immersive Design Challenge
Six months of work, more than 900 competitors and an idea that convinced the jury in the end. FAU students Elif Mutlu (degree program Mechatronik), Suavi Yildirim and Uğur Dursun (degree program Autonomy Technologies) are the winners of the Immersive Design Challenge, an international competition launched by Siemens and Sony.
The three students successfully convinced the jury with their project “BatteryTwin XR: a Siemens-Integrated Digital Twin for a Sustainable EV Battery Lifecycle” for improving the performance of batteries in electric cars and reducing waste. Their idea can contribute to a more sustainable and efficient future for the electric vehicle industry. The aim of the Immersive Design Challenge was for students to design immersive engineering solutions with a focus on sustainability using the Sony XR head-mounted display and the Siemens NX Immersive Designer software.
