Professor Aldo R. Boccaccini receives Honorary Doctorate at Riga Technical University
Award for his significant contributions
Prof. Dr. Aldo R. Boccaccini, Head of FAU Institute of Biomaterials (WW7), has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Riga Technical University (RTU). The award ceremony took place on January 20, 2025 during the ceremonial opening of the new building of the Baltic Biomaterials Center of Excellence (BBCE) in Riga. Prof. Dr. Aldo R. Boccaccini has been an international partner of the BBCE since its foundation in 2020 and is currently a member of the steering committee.
The award recognizes his substantial contributions to the development and scientific capacity enhancement of RTU as well as his active involvment in the development of the BBCE. Prof. Boccaccini emphasized his long-standing ties with RTU and the successful collaboration, which has already had a global impact.
